Bio
Prior to his appointment, Ramos served as Director of the Office of Systems Integration, supervising a $4.5 billion portfolio of California's largest technology projects. Before that, he held the position of Assistant Secretary for Health and Human Services and served concurrently as the agency's senior technology executive. He served as principal technology advisor to the secretary and was responsible for the entire HHS IT portfolio. Ramos helped architect the consolidation of the state's largest data centers and the creation of California's Department of Technology Services.
He also was director of the Teale Data Center — one of the largest public-sector data centers in the world, serving more than 200 government agency customers with an annual budget of $200 million. Before that, he was CIO for California's Department of Social Services, where he managed a statewide data communications network.
