Prior to his appointment as CIO, Sandeen served as deputy director of GITA. Before that, he was deputy director of the Governor’s Office of Economic Recovery, where he implemented a system to track more than $3 billion in state ARRA spending. Sandeen also has experience in the private sector with healthcare company UnitedHealth Group, as director of the project management office; and with various high-tech firms, including Intel and Microsoft.
